Lefty Lucy
Thank goodness.
It’s Friday.
And here’s a kind of cute story about my morning:
A client came in with two children (approx. 3 and 4 y/o) who had nothing but Etch-A-Sketch’s to keep them occupied.
They wanted TV.
Nothing but news, home shopping, news, news, home shopping, The View, and more news*.
Then I found them I Love Lucy and told them they would love it.
Guess what?
They did!
“Zoë! They put a big fish in a bathtub and then they ordered like a hundred ice cubes from room service and then they caught a little fish!!!!”
It was totally amazing.
Until I had to punch them in their faces for asking if I was older than the show.
Just kidding- I don’t punch kids in the face.
Aw… children.
But on another note:
This is my only Rodarte for Target dress (whoa- remember that?).
For some reason everyone seemed to really hate this dress.
It was like the only thing from that entire line that actually made it to the Clearance rack at Target.
Am I missing something?
I think it’s lovely!
And I literally get more compliments whenever I wear this dress, than anything else that I own.
So hmmf.
Also, does anyone want to hear the story about how these tights are literally falling apart at the seams?
They are completely shredded from the hem of the dress up. And on the toes.
Oh wait.
You said you didn’t want to hear this story?
Well, never mind then.

That back on the dress is really lovely!
I Love Lucy is great. Makes me laugh every time.
out of the mouth of babes. The dress is lovely on you. Lucy may offer a styling trick or two.
I was very apprehensive about that dress in the store, but it looks phenomenal on you! It’s just lovely. Happy weekend!
i totally thought your dress was vintage! love it.
I LOVED and still love that Target for Rodarte dress, but I have a habit of buying the kind of dress that my mom thinks looks like a bathrobe and I think looks like a bowl of rubies floating in air. And I love that dress on you! I think it’s hella cute, and I don’t know why no one liked it. I had to sell off my Rodarte for Target dress because 1) it looked butt on me and I finally came around to admitting it and 2) their last runway show was all cavalier and hokey about–oh I don’t know–HORRIBLE THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING TO PEOPLE IN JUAREZ and I hate that shit. But I love this dress and I like joking about punching children, too!
I love love love the head-wrap! It goes perfectly with the dress, too.
I nanny and there are so many times where I want to punch a child so bad, but I usually just laugh or tell them “we usually don’t make those kinds of comments.” My favorite though was when one of the kids asked “Did you MEAN to dress like that??” Oh, and when another one told me I looked like a butler had puked all over me. Such creative fashion commentary!
Your outfits always fit together so perfectly! And your storytelling is the shizz, as are your title puns. This one made me laugh probably more than it should have.
Have a rad weekend
I was overall disappointed with the Rodarte for Target collections, however, my local target DID NOT have this dress. This would have totally been my pick as well. It’s quite lovely.
I love that dress!
Children. Schmildren.
That, my friend, IS a dream dress. I traveled to several Targets searching for it…but it was too late in the game. I thinks you inspire me to look for it at Buffalo Exchange, or something like that. Until I find it, I will just be belting my kimono bathrobe.
Target done effed up this one, that dress is fucking amazing.
Love it! This dress looks amazing! What a great shape, pattern and color. A great look for a Friday!

I would like to inform you that although I did not read this post till today, I did indeed have a groovy weekend filled with hours of dancing and wine and rhum and a lot “Carlton” esque dance moves.
I love this outfit. Why are there no targets in Canada?? I looked for one in NY but our hotel was far from any and I was too lazy to get back on the subway.
That punching the kids in the face thing completely cracked me up. You have no idea how often I say I want to punch someone in the face, 2 weeks ago I said that about the guy who was fixing the printer at work… I think he maybe heard me because I thought he was gone when I said it but he wasnt…
The dress looks fantastic on you. But I can see it’s not meant for just any ol’ body. Loving the turban too. May I call you the Lucy of the new Millenia? Didn’t think so.
Dress, scarf: sisters in another life.
It makes me close my eyes and scrunch my shoulders up and smile while I breath in deep. (try it, its like hugging yourself.)
I hope you had a magnificent weekend. I know mine was much better than it would have been had it not been for the clarification and “little guys.”
Feels good to have you back.
Scrunch shoulders, close eyes, big smile, deep breath, all at once. Then let it go all at once too. It feels nice! I can do it all day but then I would never get anything done.
You’re lucky no one liked it at your local target because then you know you probably won’t run into wearing it anytime soon. But now that I say that you will, sorry to jinx you like that.
You look bomb, does that help?

This dress may have been the only thing from the Rodarte for Target line that I DID like. I loved it, in fact. I am KICKING myself now for not getting it when I had the chance. Arrrggghhh!!!
You look fantastical.

Shannan
