Haiku Ambulance | ☞ {an historical tour de force, grilled to perfection}

Halfway through the week.
Take that, week.

Sunny again.
Hasn’t been sunny for a while.
Still cool, though- which is very nice.

Thinking about a trip to the thrift for lunch.
Care to join me?

Hm.
I guess I don’t really have a lot to say this morning.
Not
too
much
goin’
on.

Can you see the actual print of the dress, though?
It’s a large, general zebra print.
With teeny tiny zebras in it!
Double whammy!

Also, I thought it was very awesome when my Full House Cirlce day (yesterday) ended up coming full circle itself.
At the very end of the day I got this email:

DJ Tanner.
Allllright!
So.
Hello.
I just wanted to touch base about something real quick, thanks.
First, I am very happy to see happy you are about my Dad’s blog!
I am really happy, too!
He’s an amazing writer with a wit sharper than a tack.
Although I’ve read his posts over and over, I perused his archives yet again today.
Guess what I found?
Comments from me!
Buuuuuuut……
My name linked me back to a ridiculous blast from my past (like… ’06).
Curious?

Soo…..
Kind of an odd day so far, but I won’t jump to any conclusions.
Perhaps things will iron out and make more sense by the afternoon.
Let’s hope so.

But on a completely unrelated note, I have a tiny rant for you this Tuesday.
And it’s about these guys.
Being the absolute epitome of a child of the 90s I was raised on a strict diet of Full House.
I
was
obsessed.
I wanted to change my middle name to Michelle.
Live in San Fran (with all of my uncles?).
You get it.
I even vividly remember being in 2nd or 3rd grade and driving around with my poor Father who was subject to listen to Mary-Kate and Ashely’s cassette tapes while we garage sailed.
Sorry about that Dad.
I was their biggest fan.
And then the time came when we went our separate ways and I tried my hardest to disassociate from my Olsen-ridden past.
It worked for quite some time.

But today is the beginning of a life come Full (house) Circle.

Here I stand, in my Elizabeth and James flats.
I have lusted over many things in their line, but couldn’t afford a sneeze of it.
These were on super sale.
And they bring me much peace.

After all of these years, I am finally where I always wanted to be:
In the Olsen twins’ shoes.

Cut.
It.
Out.

Bottom Up:
Shoes: Elizabeth and James via shopbop
Dress: Thrifted
Lingerie Robe/House Coat: Thrifted (and knotted)

Hello Monday.
Thanks for letting the clouds hang out and cool things down.
Much appreciated.

Duncan agreed.
Clouds:
A+

See that smile?
That is one happy dude, folks.

With stinky breath.

And hey guess what?
This is my 4th of July outfit!
Finally!
Isn’t this romper just amazing? And obviously perfect for the 4th?
Thanks! I thought so, too.

Bottom Up:
Shoes: Jeffrey’s via Loris‘
Romper: Urban Outfitters (and it’s on sale right now!)

Oh yeah, and we did see Inception.
And it was pretty flipping cool.
I would definitely recommend it.
Which I didn’t think I was going to say.
Mind changed.
Movie good.
Hulk smash.

Congratulations everybody:
we made it through the week.
And now we will be rewarded with glorious, sun-shiny weekends.
Or rainy weekends if that’s your preference.
Sometimes it’s mine.

I can’t even begin to describe the absolute delight that comes from wearing these pastel, seersucker confectionary shorts.
They are super soft.
Very light and good for the heat.
Pastel plaid seersucker.
Dear lord.
(I think they are meant for a child…)

I feel like a kid and a candy store.
Nice.

And I wore these shoes again.
They’re pretty perfect.
Even though they have a tiny toe box.
But it’s a short day today, so I will be fine.
Don’t worry.

UM- and anyone else’s significant others’ obsessing about Inception?
I’m so ridiculously out of the pop culture loop that I had to watch the trailer on iTunes to catch up with present times.
Eeeee….
But I think it’s in my immediate future. Seeing it, that is.
But I do love me some liquid butter, so that’s a plus.

(look, you can almost see the seersucker-ness!)

And with that friends, I bid you all the most unbelievably righteous weekends of your lives.

Man, this a pretty awesome day so far, too.
And tomorrow will be Friday.
Which is always amazing.

I thrifted these shorts yesterday.
They are an incredibly soft chambray.
You may get sick of seeing them.
But IIIIIIII won’t.

And I thought I would wear red again since it made me feel so awesome yesterday.
I feel like Christina has changed my mind about this color.
Or maybe I’m just piggy-backing on her revelations.
Does that make her a Messiah?
Or does it just make me that horrible woman from that Flannery O’Connor story?

Either way:
A+

I’m also feeling kind of antsy today.
Something needs to happen.
Or maybe something is happening already and I’m just not aware of it.
Or maybe I’m just losing my mind.
Either way:
A+

Bottom Up:
Shoes: Thrifted
Shorts: Thrifted

Blazer: Thrifted
Belt, Bag, Sunglasses: Also Thrifted
100% Thrifted!
WOW

Good Morning.
Hump Day.

I’m feeling quite good today.
Just all over.

I think it may be the skirt.
I’ve had this for about a month or more now and never worn it.
Well, I’ve tried it on a million times, but never committed.
Today, I committed.
And guess what?
It went over so well that I got asked on a date with this guy.
So mama’s gettin’ wined and dined tonight, folks.
Eeee!

There’s just something about this skirt that has held me back.
Is it the rick rack?
The bright redness?
I think perhaps both.
Somehow I feel like it’s a bit costumey, but I think that I was obviously being very silly about that.
Sometimes it takes a man to show you the beauty in a bright red skirt.
You can quote me on that.
Here, I’ll make it easy,
(quote)
Sometimes it takes
A man
To show you the beauty
In a bright, red
skirt.
(end quote)
That made me feel like William Carlos Williams.

What was I talking about?

Anyway….

Took a picture of my shoes today.
They’re gonna be super happy tomorrow when I tell them that they will be the only Jeffrey Campbell’s in my closet for but a week or so more.
Their siblings are being adopted.
I’m such a giver.
A philanthropist some may say.
Ah, to be me.

Bottom Up:
Jeffreys: Lorisshoes

Cardi: Forever21

Feeling better about the hairs.
They just needed a good sleepin’ on.
Soon I’ll be able to do this again.
(yay!)

I’m pretty sleepy myself today.
Have yet to put a dent in my coffee, which is probably why.

We’ve got a pretty disgusting 98˚ forecast on this here Tuesday.
Gross.
Thank goodness you caught me before I’m sweat-soaked crankypants.

Anyone win any vacations or cruises that they need to get rid of?
No?
Oh.

Got myself a new lip gloss, though.
Nice.

Bottom Up:
Shoes: Nine West via Nordstrom Rack

Owl Bolo: Gift from my fatha.

Looks like I finally pulled the trigger.
Cuttin’ them hairs.

It’s always a shock, though- the haircut.
Even when you know exactly what is going to happen, how it will look, and how it will feel- it’s still like
whoa.
But soon enough I’ll be complaining about how long it is, so there is really no point in dwelling.

I just feel a little limited now.
I had actually discovered a new ‘do on the way to the scissors, but decided to just go for it and start from scratch again.
I mean, I’m definitely not growing it out, so it’s futile to go on thinking so and continue fussing with it.
Adieu, hair.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll dress super girly and then I won’t look like such a tough little boy.

Bottom Up:
Shoes: Seychelles (not that you can see them)
Jeans: Thrifted
Tank: Target
Cardi: Forever21
Bolo: Thrifted
Hair: Off of my neck and ears finally

Sooo.
Indeed.
It’s finally Friday.

I have a funny story about this jacket/dress/jacket dress.
So.
I found this at the thrift about three weeks ago.
I knew it was an awesome find just by touch alone, so I grabbed it.
Whilst carrying it though the thrift-
an old lady approaches and proceeds to instruct me on how it should be styled.
A large brooch on the left collar and a big, statement necklace, gold shoes, etc…
She went on for about four entire minutes and I honestly wasn’t listening to most of it.
I mean, she herself was wearing sweatpants and that is a really good clue that she isn’t really the best woman to be taking style advice from.
I could tell that she secretly wanted me to say, “Oh, well gee- I really just don’t know what I’m doing with this jacketdressjacket, so I think that you should have it; seeing as how you know how it ought to be styled and all. I mean, it’s only right.”
Newp. Sorry lady.
But hey- if it’s any consolation, you could maybe refer to a Bolo as a statement necklace.
Maybe?

And I have to say that this dress really, truly does not look so fucking wrinkled in real life.
I saw the photos and I wanted to die.
It’s very bizarre.
But things of this nature happen often.
For example- today’s outfit in general (yes, wrinkles included) looks much better in person. Much.
However, yesterday’s outfit really did look a lot better in the photos than it did in real life.
? ? ?

AND- I actually really wanted to wear my Keds today. They’re a minty seafoam (this was before I decided to wear the jacket, thanks. I wouldn’t have put a mint with a kelly- or would I….?). But my god damn son of a gas tank heels are still shredded.
I had to resort back to my good ol’ Seychelles.
I’ll be happy when they heal.
Heal, heels.

I’m also really tired.
Tired of people. Tired of working. Tired of driving. Tired of typing. Tired of most things.
Aie.
Some sleep should do me good.
And this weekend’s plans are going to be amazing.
They are, in order:
1. Nothing

Not even getting dressed period, probably.

Bottom Up:
Shoes: Seychelles
Dress: Vintage
Jacketdress: Thrifted
Scarf: Thrifted
Coach bag: Thrifted
